C2B2 is excited to receive seed scholar applicant proposals for highly innovative research projects. The C2B2 Seed Scholar Program seeks to better recognize researcher efforts in the investigation of converting renewable resources into fuels, chemicals, and materials. The principle change of this solicitation from the previous Seed Grant program is the requirement that program applicants be available to personally execute proposed research in the laboratory.
The best proposals will have potential for significant impact in the fields of biofuels and biorefining, will be sensitive to research thrust areas of interest to C2B2 sponsors, and will emphasize collaboration across research fields and among C2B2 partner institutions as appropriate.
The Seed Scholar Program will provide salary support up to $35,000 to CU, CSU and Mines, or up to $50,000 to NREL applicants from the following levels of professional development:
Refer to the Seed Scholar Program RFP and cover sheet for more information on eligibility, solicitation requirements and important dates.
A list of the Seed Scholars selected for funding in 2011 follows, organized by C2B2 research thrust. To review information on prior Seed projects, click on the "Seed Grant Archive" links at the bottom of the page.
